Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably hold light source elements in a state where the light source elements are caused to face ends of light guide plates in liquid crystal display devices storing the light source elements mounted in a flexible wiring substrate in a storage recess part.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel LCP and backlight, in which the backlight has: a light guide plate LGP; a plurality of light source element LEDs that are mounted on a flexible wiring substrate FPC; a backlight frame MFR that has a storage recess part COP formed; and a reflection sheet RS. The plurality of light source element LEDs are accommodated in the storage recess part COP, and the reflection sheet RS is not located between the flexible wiring substrate FPC and the light guide plate LGP, and the flexible wiring substrate FPC is adhered to a rear surface of the light guide plate LGP via an adhesion layer AD3. The adhesion layer AD3 is disposed in an area where, in a planar viewing, the adhesion layer does not face a light emission part of the light source element LED. 【課題】フレキシブル配線基板に実装された光源素子を収容凹部に収容した液晶表示装置において、光源素子を導光板の端部に対向させた状態で安定的に保持する。【解決手段】液晶表示パネルLCPと、バックライトユニットとを有し、前記バックライトユニットは、導光板LGPと、フレキシブル配線基板FPC上に実装された複数の光源素子LEDと、収容凹部COPが形成されたバックライトフレームMFRと、反射シートRSとを有する液晶表示装置において、前記複数の光源素子LEDは前記収容凹部COPに収容され、前記反射シートRSは前記フレキシブル配線基板FPCと前記導光板LGPとの間には位置せず、前記フレキシブル配線基板FPCは前記導光板LGPの背面に接着層AD3を介して接着され、前記接着層AD3は、平面的に見て前記光源素子LEDの発光部と対向しない領域に配置されている。【選択図】 図14
