Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water generation device capable of performing a defrosting operation while suppressing temperature drop of a heating medium flowing in a use side heat exchanger, while preventing a compressor and a heat sink from being frozen.SOLUTION: A hot water generation device includes: a refrigerant circuit 2 in which a compressor 21, flow passage switching means 26, a heat sink 22, a decompression device 23, and an evaporator 24 are connected in an annular manner by a refrigerant pipe; a bypass passage 3 for connecting a high pressure side pipe and a low pressure side pipe of the refrigerant circuit 2; an opening/closing device 31 for performing opening/closing of the bypass passage 3; and a control device 4 for executing a plurality of operation modes. The plurality of operation modes include: a reverse cycle defrosting operation mode for bringing the opening/closing device 31 into a closed state; and a normal cycle defrosting operation mode for bringing the opening/closing device 31 into an open state. When temperature of the heat sink 22 becomes lower than predetermined temperature during the execution of the reverse cycle operation mode, the control device 4 shifts the operation mode to the normal cycle defrosting operation mode, so that defrosting can be performed efficiently while preventing water flowing in the heat sink 22 from being frozen. 【課題】圧縮機及び放熱器の凍結を防止しつつ、利用側熱交換器を流れる熱媒体の温度低下を抑制しながら除霜運転が可能な温水生成装置を提供すること。【解決手段】圧縮機21、流路切替手段26、放熱器22、減圧装置23、蒸発器24が冷媒配管で環状に接続された冷媒回路2と、冷媒回路2の高圧側配管と低圧側配管とを接続するバイパス路3と、バイパス路3の開閉を行う開閉装置31と、複数の運転モードを実行する制御装置4と、を備え、複数の運転モードは、開閉装置31を閉状態とする逆サイクル除霜運転モードと、開閉装置31を開状態とする正サイクル除霜運転モードと、を含み、制御装置4は、逆サイクル運転モードを実行中に、放熱器22の温度が所定温度よりも低くなった場合に、運転モードを正サイクル除霜運転モードへと移行させるので、放熱器22を流れる水が凍結することを防止しながら効率よく除霜を行うことができる。【選択図】図1
