Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable cycle engine capable of suppressing extension in the engine width direction caused by a camshaft and a mechanism for cam switching and preventing the size in the width direction from increasing.SOLUTION: A camshaft 31 having cams for 4 cycle 86A and 96A and cams for 6 cycle 86B and 96B is arranged in a cylinder head 13. A reduction gear pair (first transfer mechanism) 72 for reducing and transferring a rotation of a crankshaft 21 and a transmission chain mechanism (second transfer mechanism) 73 for transmitting power between the reduction gear pair 72 and the camshaft 31 using a transmission chain 73B are arranged at a side of a cylinder 17, and a speed reduction ratio between the crankshaft 21 and the camshaft 31 is made 1/6 by the reduction gear pair 72 and the transmission chain mechanism 73. A cam switching mechanism is provided at intake-side and exhaust-side rocker arms.
【課題】カム軸やカム切替を行う機構によるエンジン幅方向の張り出しを抑え、幅方向の大型化を抑えることができる可変サイクルエンジンを提供する。【解決手段】4サイクル用カム86A、96Aと6サイクル用カム86B、96Bとを有するカム軸31をシリンダヘッド13内に配置し、シリンダ17の側方に、クランク軸21の回転を減速して伝達する減速ギヤ対(第1伝達機構)72と、減速ギヤ対72とカム軸31との間を伝動チェーン73Bで動力伝達する伝動チェーン機構(第2伝達機構)73とを配置し、減速ギヤ対72と伝動チェーン機構73とによりクランク軸21とカム軸31との間の減速比を6分の1にし、吸気側および排気側ロッカーアームにカム切替機構を設けるようにした。【選択図】図1 |
