Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azo compound having excellent solubility in an oil-soluble solvent and an aqueous medium; an oily or aqueous dye composition of the same; and an inkjet ink using the composition.SOLUTION: Provided is a chromium or cobalt metal complex of an azo compound obtained by reacting a compound, which is obtained by condensing a compound represented by the following formula (4) with a corresponding chromium compound or a cobalt compound, with a compound having a tetra(C1-4 alkyl)ammonium ion. 【課題】油溶性溶媒及び水性媒体への溶解性に優れたアゾ化合物並びにその油性又は水性染料組成物及びその組成物を用いたインクジェット用インキの提供。【解決手段】下記式（４）の化合物を対応するクロム化合物又はコバルト化合物と縮合反応させることにより、得られた化合物をテトラ（Ｃ１〜４アルキル）アンモニウムイオンを有する化合物と反応させることにより得られるアゾ化合物の、クロム又はコバルト金属錯塩。【選択図】なし
