Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crankshaft support structure for preventing axial movement of a bearing and a crankshaft without restricting layouts of peripheral components and a shape of a crank case.SOLUTION: In a crankshaft support structure for an internal combustion engine 4, an outer race 8Ra of a bearing 8R is fitted to a crank case 30, and an inner race 8Rb is fitted to a crankshaft 31. The crankshaft is rotatably supported by the crank case 30. A recessed groove 82 is formed on the outer periphery of the outer race, and an engagement member 83 that can engage with the recessed groove is mounted to the crank case. The engagement member includes: an engaging projection 83c having a rotating axis Y and engaging with the recessed groove in the rotating direction; and a retract portion 83d that does not engage with the recessed groove. After the retract portion is made to face the recessed groove and the engagement member is fitted to a predetermined position of the crank case 30 in the axial direction of the crankshaft 31, the engagement member is rotated around the rotating axis, so that the engaging projection is engaged with the recessed groove. 【課題】周囲部品レイアウトやクランクケース形状に制約が生じることなく、ベアリングおよびクランク軸の軸方向移動を防止するクランク軸支持構造。【解決手段】クランクケース30にベアリング8Rのアウタレース8Raが嵌合され、インナレース8Rbがクランク軸31に嵌合されて、クランク軸がクランクケース30に回転自在に支承され、アウタレースの外周に凹溝82が形成されるとともに、凹溝に係合可能な係合部材83がクランクケースに取り付けられた内燃機関4のクランク軸支持構造において、係合部材は、回転軸Yを有するとともに、回転方向に沿って凹溝に係合する係合突起部83cと、凹溝と非係合となる退避部83dとが形成され、退避部を凹溝に対向させて係合部材をクランク軸31の軸方向に沿ってクランクケース30の所定位置へ装着した後、回転軸を中心として係合部材を回転させることで、係合突起部が凹溝に係合されることを特徴とする。【選択図】図4
