PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a baking paste composition which is excellent in coatability without the problem of stringing while having an appropriate viscosity and good in baking properties and a copolymer for baking pastes which is blended as a binder resin and contributes to exertion of the above characteristics.SOLUTION: A copolymer for baking pastes is obtained by copolymerizing 30 mol% or more of a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer (a-1) whose alcohol residue is a 4-18C branched or cyclic alkyl group or a 6-18C, unsubstituted or an alkyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group with 20 mol% or more of a monomer (a-2) which has a polymerizable double bond and no (meth)acryloyl groups, with respect to the total amount of the monomer mixture of 100 mol%. 【課題】適度な粘度を有しながら、塗工性にも優れ、糸曳きの問題もなく、また焼成性も良好である焼成ペースト組成物ならびに上記焼成ペースト組成物にバインダー樹脂として配合されて上記特性を発現させるのに寄与する焼成ペースト用共重合体の提供。【解決手段】アルコール残基が炭素数４〜１８の分枝状もしくは環状アルキル基、または炭素数６〜１８の無置換もしくはアルキル置換芳香族炭化水素基である（メタ）アクリル酸エステル単量体（ａ−１）を３０ｍｏｌ％以上と重合性二重結合および極性基を有し、かつ（メタ）アクリロイル基を有さない単量体（ａ−２）を２０ｍｏｌ％以上とを含む単量体混合物（単量体混合物全体を１００ｍｏｌ％とする。）を共重合させて得られる焼成ペースト用共重合体。【選択図】なし
