Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marine organism adhesion prevention method capable of sustaining the effect for a long period by applying an agent with a low concentration, and yet preventing variety kinds of marine organisms from adhering.SOLUTION: The marine organism adhesion prevention method comprises performing, in a normal order, or in a reverse order, or at the same time, the steps of: causing a bonded halogen which is a reaction product of an amino group-containing compound selected from compounds with a molecular weight less than 300 having an amino group and capable of generating a zwitterion and their salts with a halogen-containing compound selected from hypochlorous acid, hypobromous acid and their salts to be present in seawater in a cooling water system by seawater so as to be 0.005-0.5 mg/L as a residual chlorine concentration; and causing hydrogen peroxide to be present in the seawater in the cooling water system by seawater so as to be 0.1-2.0 mg/L, to prevent marine organisms from adhering to the cooling water system by seawater by causing the bonded halogen and hydrogen peroxide of both steps to coexist. 【課題】低濃度の薬剤添加でその効果を長期間持続し、しかも広範な海生生物種の付着を防止し得る海生生物の付着防止方法を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】アミノ基を有しかつ双性イオンを生じ得る分子量300未満の化合物およびそれらの塩から選択されるアミノ基含有化合物と次亜塩素酸、次亜臭素酸およびそれらの塩から選択されるハロゲン含有化合物との反応生成物である結合ハロゲンを、海水冷却水系の海水中に、残留塩素濃度として0.005〜0.5mg/Lになるように存在させる工程と、過酸化水素を海水冷却水系の海水中に、0.1〜2.0mg/Lになるように存在させる工程とをこの順もしくは逆順でまたは同時に行い、前記両工程の結合ハロゲンと過酸化水素を海水中に共存させることにより海水冷却水系への海生生物の付着を防止することを特徴とする海生生物の付着防止方法により、上記の課題を解決する。【選択図】なし
