PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood vessel image generation device that reduces radiographer's workload in generating a blood vessel image.SOLUTION: A blood vessel image generation device includes: image generation means that generates a blood vessel image H including blood vessels b1, b2 and b3; specification means that specifies the blood vessel b1 having a thick blood vessel diameter from among the blood vessels b1, b2 and b3; and extraction means that sets seeds e1, e2 and e3 for extracting the blood vessel to the thick blood vessel b1 in the blood vessel image H, and extracts the thick blood vessel b1 and the blood vessel b3 which leads to the thick blood vessel b1 and has a smaller blood vessel diameter than the blood vessel b1, on the basis of the seeds e1, e2 and e3. 【課題】血管画像を作成する際の撮影技師の作業負担を軽減する血管画像作成装置を提供する。【解決手段】血管ｂ１、ｂ２、およびｂ３を含む血管画像Ｈを作成する画像作成手段と、血管ｂ１、ｂ２、およびｂ３の中から血管径の太い血管ｂ１を特定する特定手段と、血管画像Ｈの太い血管ｂ１に、血管を抽出するためのシードｅ１、ｅ２、およびｅ３を設定し、シードｅ１、ｅ２、およびｅ３に基づいて、太い血管ｂ１と、太い血管ｂ１に繋がり血管ｂ１よりも血管径の細い血管ｂ３とを抽出する抽出手段とを有する。【選択図】図１１
