Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium molten salt battery having a higher volumetric energy density than conventional sodium molten salt batteries and also having a high utilization efficiency of a positive electrode active material.SOLUTION: A sodium molten salt battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The positive electrode includes a slurry containing a positive electrode active material containing a sodium-containing transition metal oxide and a molten salt electrolyte having sodium ion conductivity. The sodium molten salt battery has a volumetric energy density of 150 Wh/L or more. 【課題】従来の溶融塩電池に比べて体積エネルギ密度が高く、且つ正極活物質の利用効率が高いナトリウム溶融塩電池を提供する。【解決手段】ナトリウム溶融塩電池は、正極と、負極と、正極と負極との間に介在したセパレータとを備え、正極は、ナトリウム含有遷移金属酸化物を含む正極活物質と、ナトリウムイオン伝導性を有する溶融塩電解質と、を含んだスラリーを含み、体積エネルギ密度が、150Wh/L以上である。【選択図】図1
