Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method that satisfies high speed, high image quality, and high durability when a developing device is used, in which a toner carrier and a supply member are rotated in the same direction at a contact part.SOLUTION: In an image forming method including a developing step of developing an electrostatic latent image by using a toner in a developing device to form a toner image, the developing device includes a toner carrier 17, and a supply member 20 that forms a contact part with the toner carrier and supplies the toner; the toner carrier and supply member have the same direction of rotation at the contact part; an intrusion amount of the supply member to the toner carrier is 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm; the peripheral speed of the supply member with respect to the peripheral speed of the toner carrier is 110% or more and 250% or less; the toner contains toner particles and silica fine particles; and the toner has the total energy, which is measured by a powder fluidity analyzer, adjusted within a constant range. 【課題】トナー担持体と供給部材の回転方向が当接部において同一方向に移動する現像装置を用いた場合に、高速、高画質、高耐久を満足する画像形成方法を提供する。【解決手段】静電潜像を現像装置内のトナーを用いてトナー像を形成する現像工程を有する画像形成方法において、前記現像装置は、トナー担持体17と、前記トナー担持体と当接部を形成する、前記トナーを供給する供給部材20とを有し、前記トナー担持体と供給部材の回転方向が、当接部において同一方向であり、前記供給部材の前記トナー担持体への侵入量が0.3mm〜1.5mmで、前記供給部材の周速が前記トナー担持体の周速に対して110%以上250%以下であり、前記トナーはトナー粒子とシリカ微粒子を含有し、前記トナーが粉体流動性分析装置によって測定されるトータルエネルギーが一定範囲に調整されていることを特徴とする。【選択図】図2
