Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material having excellent folding crack resistance, a recording method capable of obtaining a recording material having excellent folding crack resistance, a method for processing a recording material and a method for improving folding crack resistance of a recording material.SOLUTION: There is provided a recording method for obtaining a recording material which comprises: a step of applying ink to a recording medium; and a step of forming a coating layer by applying a liquid composition containing at least one selected from a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyvinyl alcohol derivative to the recording medium to which ink is applied so as to at least partially cover an area to which the ink is applied, wherein the coating layer has a breaking strength of 0.4 kg or more. 【課題】 耐折り割れ性に優れた記録物、並びに、耐折り割れ性に優れた記録物が得られる記録方法、記録物の処理方法、及び記録物の耐折り割れ性の向上方法を提供する。【解決手段】 記録媒体にインクを付与するインク付与工程と、前記インクが付与された記録媒体に、前記インクが付与された領域と少なくとも一部が被覆するように、ポリビニルアルコール及びポリビニルアルコール誘導体から選択される少なくとも1種を含有する液体組成物を付与することで被覆層を形成する被覆層形成工程と、によって、記録物を得る記録方法であって、前記被覆層の破断強度が0.4kg以上であることを特徴とする記録方法。【選択図】 なし
