Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flatten a surface of a formation of color filters without separately forming a flattening film, even when the formation of the color filters is performed by overlapping a part of a color filter with a part of an adjoining color filter.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device with a first color filter, a second color filter and a third color filter, the first, second and third color filters are formed adjoiningly, and one side end part of the second color filter is overlapped, as an upper layer, on one side end part of the first color filter for performing patterning, and an end part of the third color filter is overlapped, as an upper layer, on the another side end part of the second color filter for performing patterning, wherein, an exposure step when the second color filter is patterned is characterized in that an exposure amount for a region corresponding to the one end part is different from an exposure amount for a region corresponding to the another end part.
