Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power storage device capable of promptly equalizing voltages of a plurality of batteries by improving charging efficiency and a discharging capability while suppressing an energy loss, a charging method and a discharging method.SOLUTION: A power storage device 100 comprises: a first switch circuit part 3 capable of selectively forming a circuit for connecting one of a plurality of unit batteries B1-B4 to first capacitors C1-C3 in parallel and a circuit for connecting the first capacitors C1-C3 to the other unit batteries in parallel; a second switch circuit part 4 capable of selectively forming a circuit for connecting one of a plurality of battery groups to a second capacitor Cg in parallel and a circuit for connecting the second capacitor Cg to the other battery groups in parallel; and a control part 5 for operating the first switch circuit part 3 and the second switch circuit part 4 so as to successively switch the circuits to be formed.
