Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing lens whose total length is reduced while maintaining good optical performance.SOLUTION: An image capturing lens includes a first lens element 3, a second lens element 4, a third lens element 5, a fourth lens element 6, and a fifth lens element 7 in order from the object side to the image side along an optical axis I of the image capturing lens, where the first through fifth lens elements are the only lens elements that provide the image capturing lens with total refractive power. The first lens element has an object-side surface having a convex portion near the optical axis and the second lens element has positive refractive power and an object-side surface having a convex portion near the optical axis, while the third lens element has an object-side surface having a concave portion near the optical axis and the fifth lens element is made of a plastic material and has an image-side surface having a concave portion near the optical axis. V1 representing an Abbe number of the first lens element and V2 representing an Abbe number of the second lens element satisfy 25≤|V1-V2|. 【課題】良好な光学性能を維持しつつ、全長を短縮した撮像レンズを提供する。【解決手段】撮像レンズであって、第1のレンズ素子3と、第2のレンズ素子4と、第3のレンズ素子5と、第4のレンズ素子6と、第5のレンズ素子7と、を撮像レンズの光軸Iに沿って物体側から像側へ亘って備え、撮像レンズに対し全体として屈折力を有せしめるレンズ素子が第1乃至第5のレンズ素子のみからなり、第1のレンズ素子は、光軸近傍に凸部をなす物体側の面を有し、第2のレンズ素子は、正の屈折力を有するとともに、光軸近傍に凸部をなす物体側の面を有し、第3のレンズ素子は、光軸近傍に凹部をなす物体側の面を有し、第5のレンズ素子は、プラスチック材料で構成されるとともに、光軸近傍に凹部をなす像側の面を有し、第1のレンズ素子のアッベ数を示すV1と、第2のレンズ素子のアッベ数を示すV2とが、25 |V1−V2|を満たす。【選択図】図2
