PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which includes a holding structure of a timing belt that reduces driving noise of the timing belt and that reliably transfers motive power to a carriage.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: a carriage which is provided with a recording head for performing recording on a record medium, and is movable in a scanning direction of the recording head; an endless belt stretched between at least two pulleys to make the carriage move; and a belt engagement part which is disposed on the carriage and engaged with the endless belt. On the endless belt, on at least a part of a region on an outer peripheral surface side, a plurality of engagement teeth are formed that are engaged with carriage side tooth parts disposed on the belt engagement part, and at least a part of the region on which the engagement teeth are formed is engaged with the carriage side tooth parts in a state of protruding toward an inner peripheral surface side. 【課題】タイミングベルトの駆動音を小さくするとともにキャリッジへ確実に動力を伝達するタイミングベルトの保持構造を備える記録装置を提供する。【解決手段】記録装置は被記録媒体に記録を行う記録ヘッドを備えた、当該記録ヘッドの走査方向に移動可能なキャリッジと、少なくとも２つのプーリー間に掛け渡され、前記キャリッジを移動させる無端ベルトと、前記キャリッジに設けられ、前記無端ベルトと係合するベルト係合部と、を備え、前記無端ベルトは、外周面側の少なくとも一部の領域に、前記ベルト係合部に設けられたキャリッジ側歯部と係合する複数の係合歯が形成され、前記係合歯の形成された領域の少なくとも一部は、内周面側へ向けて突出した状態で前記キャリッジ側歯部と係合している。【選択図】図７
