Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for jointing friction agitation points that can obtain a sufficient joint strength even when jointing a metallic material of high temperature strength.SOLUTION: In a preliminary process, a first member 1 and a second member 2 are overlapped above and below so that soft layers 1b, 2b are located at a boundary between the first member 1 and the second member 2. The first member 1 and the second member 2 consist of a metallic material of high temperature strength. The soft layers 1b, 2b each has a lower hardness than mother material hardness of the first member 1 and that of the second member 2 at a room temperature. In a pressing process, a plastic flow part 5 is formed by pressing a pin part 4b against a top face of the first member 1 while a rotary tool 4 is being rotated. In an agitation process, the plastic flow part 5 is enlarged by press-fitting the pin part 4b into the second member 2 while the rotary tool 4 is being rotated, and the plastic flow part 5 is agitated with the pin part 4b. In a stop step, a plastic flow is stopped by drawing the pin part 4b out of the plastic flow part 5.
【課題】高温強度の高い金属材料を接合する場合でも十分な接合強度が得られる摩擦攪拌点接合方法の提供。【解決手段】予備工程では、軟質層1b,2bが第1部材1と第2部材2との境界部に位置するように、第1部材1および第2部材2を上下に重ね合わせる。第1部材1および第2部材2は高温強度の高い金属材料からなる。軟質層1b,2bは、室温において第1部材1および第2部材2の母材硬度よりも低い硬度を有する。押圧工程では、回転工具4を回転させながらピン部4bを第1部材1の上面に押し付けることによって塑性流動部5を形成する。攪拌工程では、回転工具4を回転させながら、ピン部4bを第2部材2まで圧入することによって塑性流動部5を拡大させ、ピン部4bによって塑性流動部5を攪拌する。停止工程では、ピン部4bを塑性流動部5から引き抜いて塑性流動を停止させる。【選択図】 図2 |
