PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle approach notification device which removes discomfort of a user due to discontinuous switching of notification sound and, at the same time, can output such notification sound as to improve cognition of a walker around a vehicle with less data amount of sound source data.SOLUTION: Adjustment of the level of a signal of a low frequency component and the level of a signal of a high frequency component is performed such that notification sound by which cognition of surrounding walkers improves in accordance with speed of a vehicle is outputted from a speaker, and a notification sound signal made by synthesizing the signal of the low frequency component and the signal of the high frequency component after performing the adjustment of respective levels is amplified with a prescribed amplitude rate and the amplified notification sound signal is outputted to the speaker. 【課題】不連続に通報音が切り替わることによるユーザの違和感をなくしつつ、少ない音源データのデータ量で、車両周囲の歩行者の認知性を向上するような通報音を出力できるようにする。【解決手段】車両の車速に応じて、周囲の歩行者の認知性が向上するような通報音がスピーカから出力されるように低周波成分の信号のレベルおよび高周波成分の信号のレベルの調整を行い、各レベルの調整が行われた低周波成分の信号および高周波成分の信号を合成した通報音信号を一定の増幅率で増幅し、この増幅した通報音信号をスピーカに出力する。【選択図】図１
