Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which can be assembled with simplified work by reducing the number of components thereof, and a method for assembling the optical connector.SOLUTION: A connector body 2 of an optical connector has constitution in which a main housing 13, an auxiliary housing 14, and a cover housing 15 are integrated. In a state in which the connector body 2 is not assembled yet, the auxiliary housing 14 is joined via a hinge to a rear end of the main housing 13, and the cover housing 15 is joined via a hinge to a rear end of the auxiliary housing 14. When the connector body 2 is assembled, the auxiliary housing 14 is folded forward relative to the main housing 13, so that the auxiliary housing 14 is accommodated in an auxiliary housing accommodation part 19 of the main housing 13. Then, the cover housing 15 is folded backward relative to the auxiliary housing 14, so that the cover housing 15 is closed relative to the auxiliary housing 14. 【課題】部品点数を削減し、組立作業の簡単化を図ることができる光コネクタ及び光コネクタの組立方法を提供する。【解決手段】光コネクタのコネクタ本体2は、主ハウジング13、補助ハウジング14及びカバーハウジング15が一体化された構造となっている。コネクタ本体2が組み上げられる前の状態では、補助ハウジング14は主ハウジング13の後端部にヒンジを介して繋がっており、カバーハウジング15は補助ハウジング14の後端部にヒンジを介して繋がっている。コネクタ本体2を組み上げるときは、補助ハウジング14を主ハウジング13に対して前方に折りたたむことで、補助ハウジング14を主ハウジング13の補助ハウジング収容部19に収容する。そして、カバーハウジング15を補助ハウジング14に対して後方に折りたたむことで、カバーハウジング15を補助ハウジング14に対して閉じる。【選択図】図8
