Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of preventing an applied voltage from increasing even if a situation of applying high voltage occurs in an unloaded state of a load in an image forming device.SOLUTION: An image forming device comprises: a charging voltage application circuit 150 that applies an output voltage Vo to a charger 29 to be installed at an installation part; a voltage detection circuit 160 that detects the output voltage Vo to be output from the charging voltage application circuit 150; a current detection unit Ra that detects a grid current Ig to be generated by application of the output voltage Vo; and a controller 100. The controller 100 executes constant current control to the charging voltage application circuit 150, according to a detection value of the current detection unit Ra, so that the grid current Ig becomes a target current value; however, during execution of the constant current control, when an absolute value of the grid current Ig to be detected by the current detection unit RA is less than a determination value and an absolute value of applied voltage to be detected by the voltage detection circuit 160 is equal to or greater than a first threshold, it switches the control of the charging voltage application circuit 150 from the constant current control to first constant voltage control so that the applied voltage becomes a first target voltage value. 【課題】画像形成装置において、負荷が未装着の状態で高圧を印加する状況が発生しても、印加電圧の上昇を抑制できる技術を提供する。【解決手段】装着部に装着される帯電器29に対して出力電圧Voを印加する帯電電圧印加回路150と、帯電電圧印加回路150より出力される出力電圧Voを検出する電圧検出回路160と、出力電圧Voの印加により生ずるグリッド電流Igを検出する電流検出部Raと、制御装置100とを備える。制御装置100は、グリッド電流Igが目標電流値となるように電流検出部Raの検出値に応じて帯電電圧印加回路150を定電流制御し、定電流制御の実行中、電流検出部Raにて検出されるグリッド電流Igの絶対値が判定値未満であり、かつ電圧検出回路Raにて検出される印加電圧の絶対値が第1閾値以上の場合、帯電電圧印加回路150の制御を、定電流制御から、印加電圧が第1目標電圧値となる第1定電圧制御に切り換える。【選択図】図5
