Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cleaning blade from being turned up in an early stage of use of a developing unit and an image carrier.SOLUTION: When a developing unit and a photoreceptor drum are in an unused state, the developing unit is controlled under an initial mode development condition which is set so as to reduce the amount of external additive flying from the developing unit (S10-S14). In the initial mode, the cleaning blade is prevented from being turned up by the external additive flying from the developing unit. Furthermore, control of the developing unit under the initial mode development condition makes it possible to prevent the cleaning blade from being turned up until after the drive torque of the photoreceptor drum drops to or below a threshold. Thereafter, when the drive torque of the photoreceptor drum drops to or below the threshold (Yes in S14), control of the developing unit is switched to a preset normal mode development condition (S15).
【課題】現像器および像担持体の使用初期において、クリーニングブレードにめくれが発生することを防止する。【解決手段】現像器および感光体ドラムが未使用状態の場合には、現像器から飛翔する外添剤の量が減少するように設定された初期モードの現像条件で現像器を制御する(S10〜S14)。初期モードでは、現像器から飛翔する外添剤によって、クリーニングブレードにめくれが発生することが防止される。また、初期モードの現像条件で現像器を制御すると、感光体ドラムの駆動トルクが閾値以下になるまで、クリーニングブレードにめくれが発生することを防止することができる。その後、感光体ドラムの駆動トルクが閾値以下になると(S14において「Yes」)、現像器の制御を、予め設定された通常モードの現像条件に切り替える(S15)。【選択図】図9 |
