Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically pumped magnetometer in which an influence of variation of spin polarization can be suppressed to reduce noise, and an optically pumped magnetic force measurement method.SOLUTION: The optically pumped magnetometer being optically uniaxial has detection means for detecting an angle of plane of polarization of probe light having a linearly polarized component and utilizes electron spin or nuclear spin of atoms. The optically pumped magnetometer includes modulation means which modulates the angle of the plane of polarization of the probe light having the linearly polarized component, and the modulation means is configured to be able to control an offset at the time of modulating the angle of the plane of polarization of the probe light having the linearly polarized component, in accordance with the angle of the plane of polarization of the probe light detected by the detection means. 【課題】スピン偏極の変動による影響を抑制し、ノイズを低減することが可能となる光ポンピング磁力計及び光ポンピング磁力測定方法を提供する。【解決手段】直線偏光成分を有するプローブ光の偏光面の角度を検出する検出手段を有する、原子の電子スピンあるいは核スピンを利用した1光軸型の光ポンピング磁力計であって、前記直線偏光成分を有するプローブ光の偏光面の角度に対して変調を掛ける変調手段を備え、前記変調手段は、前記直線偏光成分を有するプローブ光の偏光面の角度に対して変調を掛ける際のオフセットを、前記検出手段で検出された前記プローブ光の偏光面の角度に応じて制御することが可能に構成されている。【選択図】 図1
