Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide concave grips in a housing for carrying an apparatus while effectively using a limited space in the housing.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 of the present invention has the constituents of the apparatus accommodated in a housing 100 having substantially a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and a concave first grip 103 and a concave second grip 104 for carrying the image forming apparatus 10 formed on one lateral surface 101 of the housing 100 and the other lateral surface 102, respectively. An exposure unit 3 and an intermediate transfer belt unit 6 are arranged above and below in the height direction inside the housing 100. The first grip 103 is arranged in the space between the exposure unit 3 and the intermediate transfer belt unit 6. 【課題】筐体内の限られたスペースを有効利用して装置を持ち運ぶための凹状の取手を筐体に設ける。【解決手段】この発明の画像形成装置１０は装置の構成物が略直方体型の筐体１００内に収められ、画像形成装置１０を持ち運ぶための凹状の第１取手１０３および凹状の第２取手１０４が筐体１００の一側面１０１および他側面１０２にそれぞれ形成される。露光ユニット３および中間転写ベルトユニット６が筐体１００内で高さ方向において上下に配置される。露光ユニット３と中間転写ベルトユニット６との間の空間に第１取手１０３が配置される。【選択図】 図１
