Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reduce power consumption in the standby state of equipment in comparison with a case not having this constitution, when the startup control of the equipment is performed by remote control.SOLUTION: When giving a startup instruction to an image forming apparatus 2, a power control server 1 instructs a remote switch 3 to temporarily stop the supply of electric power to the image forming apparatus 2. Then, the power control server 1 instructs the remote switch 3 to start the supply of the electric power and transmits the startup instruction to the image forming apparatus 2. When the supply of the electric power is started from a state where the supply of the electric power is stopped, the image forming apparatus 2 starts the reception of the startup instruction. When the startup instruction is received in a previously set period, the image forming apparatus 2 starts startup processing. When the startup instruction is not received in the previously set period, the image forming apparatus 2 is shifted to the standby state. 【課題】遠隔操作により機器の起動制御を行う場合に、本発明の構成を有さない場合と比較して、機器の待機状態における消費電力を抑える。【解決手段】電力制御サーバ1は、画像形成装置2に対して起動指示を行う場合に、一旦リモートスイッチ3に対して画像形成装置2に対する電力の供給を停止するよう指示する。次に、電力制御サーバ1は、リモートスイッチ3に対して電力の供給を開始するよう指示するとともに、画像形成装置2に対して起動指示を送信する。画像形成装置2は、電力の供給が停止された状態から電力の供給が開始された場合に、起動指示の受け付けを開始する。画像形成装置2は、予め定められた期間内に起動指示が受け付けられた場合には、起動処理を開始し、予め定められた期間内に起動指示が受け付けられなかった場合には、待機状態に移行する。【選択図】図1
