Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a configuration of a radar device from being enlarged, and to detect occurence of a shaft deviation.SOLUTION: A radar device to be loaded on a vehicle transmits a radar wave composed of an electromagnetic wave, and receives a reflection wave with a reception antenna having vertical directivity along a vehicle height direction of a vehicle. Then, a target is detected on the basis of a result of transmission/reception of the radar wave. Further, in the radar device, a state where a reference shaft has a tilt more than a preliminarily defined prescribed angle along the vehicle height direction with respect to a horizontal shaft extending from the reception antenna is denoted as a shaft deviation state, and scattering intensity of a main beam of the radar wave from a road surface within a preliminarily defined specific distance from the reception antenna in a case of a non-shaft deviation state is denoted as reference reflection intensity. Then, the radar device determines that, when the minimum reflection intensity of the smallest reflection intensity in the specific distance is more than the reference reflection intensity, the radar device is in a shaft deviation state on the basis of the result of the transmission/reception of the radar wave (S210 to 270). 【課題】レーダ装置の構成が大型化することを抑制しつつ、軸ズレの発生を検知すること。【解決手段】車両に搭載されるレーダ装置は、電磁波からなるレーダ波を送信し、車両の車高方向に沿った垂直指向性を有した受信アンテナで、反射波を受信する。そして、レーダ波を送受信した結果に基づいて物標を検出する。さらに、レーダ装置においては、受信アンテナから延出する水平軸に対して基準軸が車高方向に沿って予め規定された規定角度以上の傾きを有した状態を軸ズレ状態とし、非軸ズレ状態である場合における受信アンテナから予め規定された特定距離内の路面からのレーダ波の主ビームの散乱強度を基準反射強度とする。そして、レーダ装置は、レーダ波を送受信した結果に基づいて、特定距離内における最小の反射強度である最小反射強度が基準反射強度以上であれば、軸ズレ状態であるものと判定する(S210〜270)。【選択図】図4
