PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element capable of obtaining blue luminescence, and a useful aromatic amine derivative capable of being used for the organic thin film layer of the organic EL element.SOLUTION: Provided is an aromatic amine derivative represented by general formula (1). In the formula (1), R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rrespectively independently denote a hydrogen atom or a substitutional group. In the general formula (1), Rand Rare denoted by general formula (2); and Land Lrespectively independently denote a single bond, a bivalent residue of an aryl group or the like; and Ldenotes a bivalent residue of an aryl group or the like. In the general formula (2), Ardenotes a monovalent substitutional group having general formula (3) as a partial structure; X denotes an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; and A and B denote a 6-membered ring. In the general formula (2), Ardenotes an aryl group, a monovalent substitutional group having the general formula (3) as a partial structure or the like. 【課題】青色発光を得ることが可能な有機ＥＬ素子、および当該有機ＥＬ素子の有機薄膜層に用いることができる有用な芳香族アミン誘導体を提供すること。【解決手段】下記一般式（１）で表される芳香族アミン誘導体。前記一般式（１）において、Ｒ２、Ｒ３、Ｒ４、Ｒ５、Ｒ７、Ｒ８、Ｒ９およびＲ１０は、それぞれ独立に、水素原子や置換基である。前記一般式（１）において、Ｒ１およびＲ６が、下記一般式（２）で表され、Ｌ１、Ｌ２は、それぞれ独立に、単結合やアリール基の二価の残基等である。Ｌ３は、アリール基の二価の残基等である。前記一般式（２）において、Ａｒ１は、下記一般式（３）を部分構造として有する一価の置換基であり、Ｘは、酸素原子または硫黄原子であり、ＡおよびＢは、６員環を表す。前記一般式（２）において、Ａｒ２は、アリール基や前記一般式（３）を部分構造として有する一価の置換基等である。【選択図】なし
