In the formula (1), R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rrespectively independently denote a hydrogen atom or a substitutional group. In the general formula (1), Rand Rare denoted by general formula (2); and Land Lrespectively independently denote a single bond, a bivalent residue of an aryl group or the like; and Ldenotes a bivalent residue of an aryl group or the like. In the general formula (2), Ardenotes a monovalent substitutional group having general formula (3) as a partial structure; X denotes an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; and A and B denote a 6-membered ring. In the general formula (2), Ardenotes an aryl group, a monovalent substitutional group having the general formula (3) as a partial structure or the like. 【課題】青色発光を得ることが可能な有機EL素子、および当該有機EL素子の有機薄膜層に用いることができる有用な芳香族アミン誘導体を提供すること。【解決手段】下記一般式(1)で表される芳香族アミン誘導体。前記一般式(1)において、R2、R3、R4、R5、R7、R8、R9およびR10は、それぞれ独立に、水素原子や置換基である。前記一般式(1)において、R1およびR6が、下記一般式(2)で表され、L1、L2は、それぞれ独立に、単結合やアリール基の二価の残基等である。L3は、アリール基の二価の残基等である。前記一般式(2)において、Ar1は、下記一般式(3)を部分構造として有する一価の置換基であり、Xは、酸素原子または硫黄原子であり、AおよびBは、6員環を表す。前記一般式(2)において、Ar2は、アリール基や前記一般式(3)を部分構造として有する一価の置換基等である。【選択図】なし
