Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diabetes detection technique which detects even a diabetes in an initial stage by high sensitivity, has high specificity to a diabetes, allows a user to operate easily, and uses urine as a sample.SOLUTION: The diabetes detection method in which urine collected from a subject is used as a sample is provided. The sample is urine or derivation matter thereof which is not subjected to refining. Using intensity of fluorescence emitted from a fluorescent material included in the sample in an excitation wavelength of 250-500 nm as an index, presence/absence of a diabetes in the subject is detected. As the sample, urine itself or a diluted matter of the same may be used. 【課題】初期段階等の糖尿病も高感度で検出でき、糖尿病に対する特異性が高く、かつ操作も簡便な、尿を検体とする糖尿病の検出技術を提供する。【解決手段】被験者から採取した尿を検体として用いる糖尿病の検出方法であって、前記検体は、精製処理を経ていない尿又は尿由来物であり、励起波長250〜500nmにおいて前記検体に含まれる蛍光物質が発する蛍光の強度を指標として、前記被験者における糖尿病の有無を検出することを特徴とする糖尿病の検出方法が提供される。前記検体として、尿そのもの又は尿の希釈物を用いることができる。【選択図】図1
