Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crank shaft of a reciprocating engine capable of drastically improving flexural rigidity and torsional rigidity.SOLUTION: A crank shaft includes a journal part J to be a rotational center, a pin part P eccentric to the journal part J, and a crank arm part A connecting the journal part J and the pin part P. To the end surface of the arm part A on the side of the journal part J, a projection part Oj projecting in a shaft direction beyond the position of a journal thrust surface Jt is provided.
