Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent fixing failure or sheet deformation even if a result of detecting a surface temperature of a pressure roller is omitted.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus for fixing an image formed on a recording medium with developer, by heat and pressure includes: a fixing member supported in a rotatable manner to heat the developer; a pressure member for pressing the recording medium held with the fixing member; a temperature detection unit which detects a temperature of the fixing member; a temperature control unit which controls the temperature of the fixing member; a rotation control unit which controls rotation of the fixing member; an environment value detection unit which detects an atmospheric temperature; a timer unit which measures the time required until the end of warm-up of the fixing member; and a rotation time setting unit which sets rotation time of the fixing member. When the atmospheric temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature, the rotation time setting unit changes the rotation time after the rotation control unit reaches a warm-up temperature, on the basis of a time measured by the timer unit. 【課題】加圧ローラの表面温度の検出結果を省略しても、定着不良や用紙変形の発生を抑制することが可能な画像形成装置の提供。【解決手段】現像剤により形成された記録媒体上の画像を熱と圧力とで定着させる画像形成装置であって、回転可能に支持され前記現像剤を加熱する定着部材と、定着部材との間で記録媒体を挟持押圧する加圧部材と、定着部材の温度を検出する温度検出部と、定着部材の温度を制御する温度制御部と、定着部材の回転を制御する回転制御部と、雰囲気温度を検出する環境値検出部と、定着部材のウォームアップ終了までに要する時間を計時する計時部と、定着部材の回転時間を設定する回転時間設定部とを備え、雰囲気温度が所定温度よりも低い場合、回転時間設定部は回転制御部がウォームアップ温度に到達してからの回転時間を前記計時部による経時結果に基き変更することを特徴とする画像形成装置。【選択図】 図1
