PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus which can measure a paper feed state of recording paper in real time and control an optimal delivery operation in accordance with the paper feed state.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus includes a delivery roller 81 which delivers recording paper P2 stored in a paper feed tray 4 to a transportation path R1 from the top layer and a paper feed state detection part 85 which measures the delivery state of the recording paper P2 from the paper feed tray 4 in a paper feeder 8. In the paper feeder 8, at the time of performing paper feed operation of the recording paper P2, the delivery operation of the recording paper P2 by the delivery roller 81 is controlled on the basis of the transportation state of the recording paper P2 detected by the paper feed state detection part 85. 【課題】本発明は、記録紙の給紙状態をリアルタイムで測定し、その給紙状態に合わせて最適な繰り出し動作を制御できる画像形成装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】本発明の画像形成装置は、給紙装置８において、給紙トレイ４に収納された記録紙Ｐ２を最上層から搬送路Ｒ１に繰り出す繰り出しローラー８１と、記録紙Ｐ２の給紙トレイ４からの繰り出し状態を測定する給紙状態検出部８５と、を備える。そして、給紙装置８は、記録紙Ｐ２の給紙動作を行う際、繰り出しローラー８１による記録紙Ｐ２の繰り出し動作が、給紙状態検出部８５で検出された記録紙Ｐ２の搬送状態に基づいて制御される。【選択図】図３
