Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground improvement device and a method, capable of construction even at a job site severe in height restriction, and capable of stably vertically moving a treatment machine having an agitation blade in the ground.SOLUTION: A treatment machine 2 of downwardly projecting a rotary shaft 4 for rotatingly driving by installing an agitation blade 5, is connected to a suspension wire 10c wound on a drum 10a of a winch 10, and the suspension wire 10c is delivered by operating the winch 10, and after excavating the ground B up to the predetermined depth by downwardly moving the treatment machine 2 by controlling an attitude of the treatment machine 2 by a stabilizer 6 installed in the treatment machine 2, the suspension wire 10c is wound by operating the winch 10 while rotatingly driving the agitation blade 5 while supplying a ground improvement chemical S in its ground B via a supply line 8, and ground improvement is executed by agitating and mixing the ground improvement chemical S in the ground B by upwardly moving the treatment machine 2 by controlling the attitude of the treatment machine 2 by the stabilizer 6. 【課題】高さ制限の厳しい現場であっても施工可能であり、撹拌翼を備えた処理機を地盤中で安定して上下移動させることがきる地盤改良装置および方法を提供する。【解決手段】撹拌翼5が取り付けられて回転駆動する回転軸4が下方に突設された処理機2をウインチ10のドラム10aに巻き取られた吊ワイヤ10cに連結し、ウインチ10を作動させて吊ワイヤ10cを繰り出するとともに、処理機2に取付けられたスタビライザ6により処理機2の姿勢を制御して処理機2を下方移動させて地盤Bを所定深度まで掘削した後、その地盤B中に供給ライン8を通じて地盤改良薬液Sを供給しつ撹拌翼5を回転駆動しながら、ウインチ10を作動させて吊ワイヤ10cを巻き取るとともに、スタビライザ6により処理機2の姿勢を制御して処理機2を上方移動させて、地盤B中に地盤改良薬液Sを撹拌および混合させて地盤改良を行なう。【選択図】図2
