PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the tension of a needle thread with a simple configuration in an embroidery machine.SOLUTION: An embroidery machine includes: a plurality of embroidery needles through each of which a needle thread is inserted; a plurality of tension parts (digital variable tension parts 24) each of which applies tension to the needle thread inserted through each of a plurality of embroidery needles 26; and a drive part (an electromagnetic solenoid 32, a drive arm 33 and an action shaft 35) which alternatively engages with the plurality of tension parts (the digital variable tension parts 24) when the plurality of embroidery needles are moved in a lateral direction upon selection, and which provides power to the engaged tension part (the digital variable tension part 24). 【課題】刺繍機において、簡素な構成で上糸のテンションを調整する。【解決手段】刺繍機は、上糸が挿入される複数の刺繍針と、これら複数の刺繍針２６に挿入される上糸にテンションを付与する複数のテンション部（デジタル可変テンション部２４）と、複数の刺繍針が選択時に横方向に移動することで複数のテンション部（デジタル可変テンション部２４）に択一的に係合し、この係合したテンション部（デジタル可変テンション部２４）に動力を与える駆動部（電磁ソレノイド３２，駆動アーム３３，作用軸３５）と、を備える。【選択図】図４Ａ
