Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat resistant insulating tapes made of alicyclic polyimides having high light transmittance and sufficiently high heat resistance.SOLUTION: A heat resistant insulating tape is made of an alicyclic polyimide obtained by combining an aromatic diamine with an alicyclic tetracarboxylic dianhydride produced using a 5-norbornene-2-spiro-α-cycloalkanone-α'-spiro-2''-5''-norbornene represented by the general formula (1) in the figure.
