Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium molten salt battery which is less expensive and superior in charge and discharge cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A sodium molten salt battery comprises: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode including a negative electrode active material; and a molten salt electrolyte. The molten salt electrolyte used in the sodium molten salt battery includes an ionic liquid dried by an adsorbent including aluminosilicate. The ionic liquid includes: no less than 55 ppm of at least one kind of ions selected from a group consisting of sodium ions and potassium ions by mass ratio as first impurity cations; and no less than 10 ppm of at least sodium ions by mass ratio. 【課題】安価で充放電サイクル特性に優れたナトリウム溶融塩電池を提供する。【解決手段】正極活物質を含む正極と、負極活物質を含む負極と、溶融塩電解質と、を含む、ナトリウム溶融塩電池において、アルミノシリケートを含む吸着材により乾燥させたイオン液体を含む溶融塩電解質を用いる。イオン液体は、ナトリウムイオンおよびカリウムイオンよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種を、第一不純物カチオンとして、55ppm以上の質量割合で含み、少なくともナトリウムイオンを10ppm以上の質量割合で含む。【選択図】図5
