The baseplate 2 is fixed to the foundation by a fixing member Bo with a line direction Ld of a road as a width direction W, and assuming a substantially orthogonal line to the line direction of the road by passing through a central part Wo in the width direction W in the baseplate 2 as a virtual bending line Li2, the fixing member Bo is arranged in a bending restraining position SP for restraining bending with the virtual bending line Li2 as the axis in the baseplate 2 when the column body 3 receives a load via a cross beam member B. 【課題】支柱本体とベースプレートとの溶接部分の破断を抑制し、支持力の向上を発揮することができる防護柵支柱を提供する。【解決手段】基礎に固定されるベースプレート2と、ベースプレート2上に立設して接合された閉断面中空状の支柱本体3と、を備える防護柵支柱1であって、ベースプレート2は、道路の車線方向Ldを幅方向Wとして固定部材Boによって基礎に固定されており、ベースプレート2における幅方向Wの中央部Woを通過し道路の車線方向に略直交する線を仮想折曲線Li2とした場合、固定部材Boは、横梁部材Bを介して支柱本体3が荷重を受けた際のベースプレートに2おける仮想折曲線Li2を軸とする折曲を抑制する折曲抑制位置SPに配置されている。【選択図】図6
