Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium molten salt battery arranged to suppress the gas generation caused therein.SOLUTION: A sodium molten salt battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; a molten salt electrolyte having sodium ion conductivity; and a battery case. The positive electrode, the negative electrode and the molten salt electrolyte are housed in the battery case. The positive electrode has a positive electrode current collector, and a positive electrode active material layer formed on the surface of the positive electrode current collector. The negative electrode has a negative electrode current collector, and a negative electrode active material layer formed on the surface of the negative electrode current collector. At least one current collector selected from the positive and negative electrode current collectors includes a sheet material including at least aluminum, and a first oxide surface film having a thickness smaller than 100 nm on the surface of the sheet material.
