Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for decontaminating soil, capable of simply and efficiently decontaminating soil containing radioactive cesium.SOLUTION: A device for decontaminating soil comprises: a processing tank 11 for storing a soil S including radioactive cesium and an eluate including an acid solution L to elute the radioactive cesium into the eluate; an adsorption tower 12 for storing an adsorbent adsorbing the cesium in the eluate; a first pipe line 13 for connecting the processing tank 11 and the water inlet 12A of the adsorption tower 12; a second pipe line 14 for connecting the water outlet 12B of the adsorption tower 12 and the processing tank 11; and a transfer pump 15 interposed in the first pipe line 13 and for circulating the eluate between the processing tank 11 and the adsorption tower 12.
