Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device and a luminaire using the power supply device capable of reducing a standby power.SOLUTION: A voltage corresponding to a current flowing to a switching element Q2 is input to a second drive circuit 20 as a detection voltage Vd. Detecting a termination of reduction of the current flowing on an inductor L2, the second drive circuit 20 turns ON the switching element Q2; and when the detection voltage Vd reaches a predetermined first reference voltage Vr1 or more, the second drive circuit 20 turns OFF the switching element Q2. A control circuit 31 performs a first OFF-operation to maintain the switching element Q2 in an OFF state by maintaining the detection voltage Vd in a state higher than the first reference voltage Vr1; and a second OFF-operation to maintain the switching element Q2 in an OFF state by terminating the supply of the electric power to a part of the second drive circuit 20. When the output is stopped for a long time, the standby power can be reduced by switching from the first OFF-operation to the second OFF-operation. 【課題】 待機電力の低減が可能な電源装置および該電源装置を用いた照明器具を提供する。【解決手段】 第2駆動回路20には、スイッチング素子Q2に流れる電流に応じた電圧が検出電圧Vdとして入力される。第2駆動回路20は、インダクタL2に流れる電流の減少の停止が検出されたときにスイッチング素子Q2をオンし、検出電圧Vdが所定の第1基準電圧Vr1以上となったときにスイッチング素子Q2をオフする。制御回路31は、検出電圧Vdを第1基準電圧Vr1よりも高い状態に維持することでスイッチング素子Q2をオフ状態に維持する第1オフ動作と、第2駆動回路20の一部への電力の供給を停止させることでスイッチング素子Q2をオフ状態に維持する第2オフ動作とを行う。出力が長時間停止される場合には、第1オフ動作から第2オフ動作に切り替えることによる待機電力の低減が可能となる。【選択図】図1
