Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need to incorporate a module dedicated to distance measurement and prevent reading of a barcode located at an unexpected distance.SOLUTION: A distance detection device performs predetermined processing on the basis of a result of first frequency analysis to image data obtained by reading a reading object image with a reading device, and a result of second frequency analysis to image data obtained by reading the reading object image with the reading device distant by a predetermined distance, so as to detect the distance between a reading object and the reading device. 【課題】距離測定用の専用モジュールを組み込む必要が無く、且つ、想定外の距離にあるバーコードの読み取りを防止する。【解決手段】読み取り対象画像を読み取り装置にて読み取ることにより得られた画像データに対する第１の周波数解析の結果と、読み取り対象画像を前記読み取り装置にて所定距離離れて読み取ることにより得られる画像データに対する第２の周波数解析の結果と、に基づいて、所定の処理を行うことにより、前記読み取り対象と読み取り装置間との間の距離を検出する。【選択図】図２
