PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship sailing method and a ship sailing system enabled to select an optimum shipping mode thereby to reduce a fuel consumption.SOLUTION: There are set a normal sailing mode, in which the normal output of a Diesel engine 14 as a main engine is set at the optimum fuel consumption, and a low sailing mode, in which the lower output than the normal output is set at the optimum fuel consumption. The ship is sailed by switching the normal shipping mode and the low shipping mode in accordance with the shipping situation of the ship. 【課題】船舶の運航方法及び船舶の運航システムにおいて、最適な運航モードを選択可能として燃費の低減を図る。【解決手段】主機関としてのディーゼルエンジン１４の常用出力が最適燃費に設定される常用運航モードと、常用出力より低い低出力が最適燃費に設定される低出力運航モードとを設定し、船舶の運航状況に応じて常用運航モードと低出力運航モードとを切替えて運航する。【選択図】図１
