Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a surface mounted inductor including an external electrode having strong fixing strength to an element assembly even in a high humidity environment.SOLUTION: A coil is formed by winding a conducting wire. A core part 2 is formed in such a way that a sealing material mainly comprising metal magnetic powder and a resin is used to contain the coil therein and at least a part of both end parts of the coil is exposed on the surface thereof. At least a part of a portion forming an external electrode of the core part has surface smoothness lower than that in the circumference thereof. The external electrode electrically continuous to the coil is formed in the core part. 【課題】高湿環境下でも素体への固着強度が強い外部電極を有する面実装インダクタの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】導線を巻回してコイルを形成する。主に金属磁性粉粉末と樹脂とからなる封止材を用いて、コイルを内包し、且つ、コイルの両端部の少なくとも一部がその表面上に露出するようにコア部2を形成する。また、このコア部の外部電極を形成する部分の少なくとも一部は、表面の平滑度をその周囲の表面の平滑度よりも低下させる。このコア部にコイルと導通する外部電極を形成する。【選択図】図3
