Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive for an image display device and an adhesive sheet for an image display device, which have excellent filling property for a stepped portion formed on an adherend even when the adhesive or the adhesive sheet is laminated under a gentle condition that less likely causes cracks even in a transparent protective plate having a thickness of 0.4 mm or less.SOLUTION: The adhesive for an image display device shows a tanδ of 0.35 or more at 40 to 70°C, and to be used for sticking a transparent protective plate D1 having a thickness of 0.4 mm or less to an image display unit D4. The adhesive sheet for an image display device includes an adhesive layer formed of the above adhesive, and at least a pair of substrates opposing to each other, in which the adhesive layer is interposed between the pair of substrates.
