Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of reducing springback in an axial direction of a caulking part to improve caulking force, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A gas sensor 100 comprises at least: a cylindrical main body metal fitting 20 having a caulking part 20a on the own tip side or rear end side; a sensor element 3 extended in an axial direction and held in the main body metal fitting; and an other member 30 fixed to the caulking part. The other member is covered with the caulking part bent inside in a radial direction to press the other member toward a center side of the main body metal fitting in the axial direction, and recesses and protrusions 20u having a vertical interval in the axial direction are formed on at least the outer surface of the caulking part.
