Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods of treating diabetic retinopathy.SOLUTION: This invention relates to methods of treating diabetic retinopathy, comprising administering an effective amount of a therapeutic agent which inhibits the interaction of a lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) and an intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). Preferably, in the methods of treating, an effective amount of an LFA antagonist is administered.
