PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable analyte meter that is configured to detect whether a test strip has been removed from the analyte meter after the test strip is inserted but before analyte measurement is completed.SOLUTION: An analyte meter 10 having a test strip port 22 is configured to detect whether an approved test strip 24 has been inserted into the test strip port 22 before turning on analyte measurement subsystems in the analyte meter 10. After the meter is turned on, control circuitry in the meter continues to monitor whether the test strip 24 is removed prior to application of a blood sample onto the test strip 24 or whether the test strip 24 is removed after application of a blood sample onto the test strip 24, e.g., during an assay of the sample. 【課題】テストストリップが挿入された後でかつ検体の測定が完了する前に、テストストリップが検体計測器から取り出されたか否かを検出するように構成された、可搬型の検体計測器を提供する。【解決手段】テストストリップポート２２を有する検体計測器１０は、検体計測器１０の中の検体測定サブシステムをオンにする前に、承認されたテストストリップ２４がテストストリップポート２２に挿入されたか否かを検出するように構成される。計測器がオンにされた後、計測器の中の制御回路機構は、例えば試料のアッセイ中などに、テストストリップ２４上に血液試料が適用される前にテストストリップ２４が取り出されたか否か、又はテストストリップ２４上に血液試料が適用された後にテストストリップ２４が取り出されたか否かを監視し続ける。【選択図】図１Ａ
