Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation position detector suppressing damage to an IC package.SOLUTION: A magnet 20 is attached to a throttle valve 2 so as to be rotatable integrally with the throttle valve 2. An IC package 30 has a magnetic detection element 31 that outputs a signal according to a change of a magnetic flux direction generated by the rotation of a magnet 20. A cover member 40 has a bottom 41 and a cylinder part 42, and is attached to a housing 5 on a side of the bottom 41 of a cylinder part 42 so as to cover the magnet 20. A support part 50 is formed projecting from the bottom 41 toward the magnet 20 with the cover member 40 being attached to the housing 5, and supports the IC package 30 so that the magnetic detection element 31 can output the signal. A projection part 60 is formed separately from the support part 50 so as to project from the vicinity of the support part 50 of the bottom 41 to at least a position corresponding to the magnetic detection element 31 toward the magnet 20, with the cover member 40 being attached to the housing 5. 【課題】ICパッケージの破損を抑制可能な回転位置検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】磁石20は、スロットル弁2と一体に回転可能なようスロットル弁2に取り付けられる。ICパッケージ30は、磁石20が回転することにより生じる磁束の方向の変化に応じた信号を出力する磁気検出素子31を有している。カバー部材40は、底部41および筒部42を有し、底部41の筒部42側で磁石20を覆うようハウジング5に取り付けられる。支持部50は、カバー部材40がハウジング5に取り付けられた状態で、底部41から磁石20側に突出するよう形成され、磁気検出素子31が前記信号を出力可能なようICパッケージ30を支持する。突出部60は、カバー部材40がハウジング5に取り付けられた状態で、底部41の支持部50近傍から少なくとも磁気検出素子31に対応する位置まで磁石20側に突出するよう支持部50とは別体に形成されている。【選択図】図1
