Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door latch device configured to improve assembling efficiency.SOLUTION: A latch shaft 3 for pivotally supporting a latch 4 on a storage part of a body 2 includes: a shaft part 31 inserted through a shaft hole 61 of a cover plate 6 and a shaft hole 44 of the latch 4 from a surface side of the cover plate 6 covering the storage part; a retaining flange part 32 located on the base end side of the shaft part 31 where the shaft hole 61 of the cover plate 6 is inserted, and arranged in contact with the periphery of the shaft hole 61 on the surface of the cover plate 6; and a small-diameter shaft part 33 which is located at the tip of the shaft part 31, has a smaller diameter than that of the shaft part 31, and is press-fitted in a shaft hole 71 of a back plate 7 with a tip antiskid part 35 formed in advance on an outer circumferential surface. The shaft part 31 of the latch shaft 3 is inserted through the shaft hole 61 of the cover plate 6 and the shaft hole 44 of the latch 4. While the small-diameter shaft part 33 is press-fitted in the shaft hole 71 of the back plate 7, the tip of the small-diameter shaft part 33 is not caulked. 【課題】組み立て作業の効率化を図った自動車用ドアラッチ装置を提供する。【解決手段】ラッチ4をボディ2の収容部に枢支するためのラッチ軸3は、収容部を閉塞するカバープレート6の表面側からカバープレート6の軸孔61及びラッチ4の軸孔44を挿通する軸部31と、軸部31におけるカバープレート6の軸孔61を挿通する側の基端側にあって、カバープレート6の表面における軸孔61周辺に当接する抜止め鍔部32と、軸部31の先端側にあって、軸部31の径よりも小径で、かつ外周面に予め形成した先端側抜止め加工部35によりバックプレート7の軸孔71に圧入する小径軸部33とを有する。ラッチ軸3の軸部31をカバープレート6の軸孔61及びラッチ4の軸孔44に挿通し、小径軸部33をバックプレート7の軸孔71に圧入した形態で、小径軸部33の先端をカシメ止めしない。【選択図】図7
