The electron phase transition is phase transition of multi-degrees of freedom including the spin-degrees of freedom and the orbital degrees of freedom which are the internal degrees of freedom which an electron possesses. The substance is VCrO(0<X≤0.23). 【課題】蓄熱材にとって必要な要件を満たす新しいタイプの蓄熱材を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の蓄熱材は、電子相転移を起こす物質からなる蓄熱材であって、前記電子相転移は、電子のもつ内部自由度である、スピンの自由度と、軌道の自由度とを含む複自由度の相転移であり、前記物質は、V(1−X)CrXO2(0<X≦0.23)であることを特徴とする。【選択図】図4
