Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for forming an overcoat layer of an In-Cell type polarizer, the composition having excellent water resistance and solvent resistance and exhibiting such properties that an optical element having an overcoat layer formed by use of the composition shows no degradation in a performance as an anisotropic dye film by forming the overcoat layer and that optical characteristics of a liquid crystal element obtained by use of the optical element are improved.SOLUTION: The resin composition for forming an overcoat layer of an In-Cell type polarizer is a resin composition for forming an overcoat layer to be formed in contact with an anisotropic dye film which is formed by a wet film forming process using a lyotropic liquid crystalline dye and which is used as an In-Cell type polarizer. The resin composition comprises: (A) a photopolymerizable monomer; (B) a resin having an ethylenic double bond in a side chain; and (C) a photopolymerization initiator. 【課題】耐水性、耐溶剤性に優れるとともに、これを用いて形成されたオーバーコート層を有する光学素子が、オーバーコート層を形成することによる異方性色素膜としての性能の劣化がなく、これを用いて得られた液晶素子の光学特性が良好となる、In-Cell型偏光子のオーバーコート層形成用樹脂組成物を提供する。【解決手段】リオトロピック液晶性色素を用いて湿式成膜法により形成される異方性色素膜であり、かつ、In-Cell型偏光子として用いられる該異方性色素膜に接して形成されるオーバーコート層形成用樹脂組成物であって、該樹脂組成物が、(A)光重合性モノマー、(B)側鎖にエチレン性二重結合を有する樹脂、及び、(C)光重合開始剤を含有する感光性樹脂組成物であることを特徴とするIn-Cell型偏光子のオーバーコート層形成用樹脂組成物。【選択図】なし
