Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce errors in protruding amounts of the central portion of a nip plate.SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises: a nip plate 130 made of a metal plate; and a stay 160 for receiving a load from a rotator (pressure roller 150) via a body 135 of the nip plate 130. The body 135 of the nip plate 130 includes one end portion 131A, a central portion 131B, and the other end portion 131C in an axial direction of the rotator. The central portion 131B of the body 135 of the nip plate 130 has rigidity higher than those of the one end portion 131A and the other end portion 131C of the body 135 of the nip plate 130. When the stay 160 is receiving a load from the rotator, the stay 160 and the body 135 of the nip plate 130 deform, and the body 135 of the nip plate 130 protrudes toward a rotator side so as to be in a convex shape. 【課題】ニップ板の中央部の突出量の誤差を小さくすることを目的とする。【解決手段】定着装置は、金属板からなるニップ板130と、ニップ板130の本体135を介して回転体(加圧ローラ150)からの荷重を受けるステイ160とを備える。ニップ板130の本体135は、回転体の軸線方向において、一端部131A、中央部131Bおよび他端部131Cを有する。ニップ板130の本体135の中央部131Bは、ニップ板130の本体135の一端部131Aと他端部131Cよりも剛性が高く、ステイ160が回転体からの荷重を受けているとき、ステイ160とニップ板130の本体135は変形し、ニップ板130の本体135が回転体側へ突出するコンベックス形状となっている。【選択図】図4
